Powel, Inc ANNOUNCES NEW WORKSTUDIO PRODUCT LINE

St. Paul, MN, April 28, 2009 - Powel, Inc, a leader in utility software, today announced a new product line: the WorkStudio Mobile Work Management System.  Powel WorkStudio leverages the StakeOut technology base to deliver a suite of mobile work management solutions that automate core utility business processes.

For some time now, utilities have applied Powel’s StakeOut field design software to a variety of business needs beyond design.  To reflect this evolution and Powel’s commitment to growing additional high-value applications, the company is pleased to introduce WorkStudio. 

Powel WorkStudio is a Mobile Work Management suite with office and field based tools to document, measure and improve utility performance through the entire asset lifecycle.  The WorkStudio suite is comprised of four major product families:

·          Design and Operations includes the industry leading field design tool, StakeOut, and a new mobile application, CrewWorks.  CrewWorks is used by construction crews to report as-builts and timesheets.

·          Maintenance includes the office based Maintenance Manager and the field based InspectWorks application, which is used for the completion of inspection protocols and documentation of corrective action.

·          Vegetation includes the office based Vegetation Manager and the field based VegWorks for vegetation assessment and auditing.  (Vegetation solutions are available exclusively through Powel’s partner, Utility Risk Management Corporation.)

·          Storm Assessment includes StormWorks, a new quickly deployable storm damage assessment tool.

Each of these products provides targeted functionality and is designed with the end user in mind using simple, intuitive interfaces.  These solutions can be implemented individually or as an integrated suite. The new WorkStudio software applications were recently demonstrated at Powel’s annual User Group Meeting.
